Today a friend someone told me, “I really appreciate you man, LIKE A TON! You’re a good man.” - Simply because I took 15min out of my day to lead an ear and show compassion and support to someone in need.
I get reactions like this often, which lead me to believe that being there for someone, if even for a little bit, is suddenly a hot commodity, and something hard to come by now a days. But, why?
Why is having someone to talk to in your time of need such a seemingly difficult thing to come by? I mean it shouldn’t be, and maybe if we all took that extra 15min out of “impossibly cram packed, overly busy, overly stressed out days” to stop and listen to our friends, family, even complete strangers whom we network with online, and were just there for each other instead of making excuses for why we couldn’t be, maybe we’d be better off as a society.
But hey, maybe it’s just me.
